Today there is a
growing demand for qualified simulator technicians, but there is a shortage
of quality training institutions available. Southwest Technology Center
in Altus, Oklahoma is home to a unique specialized education program, Flight
Simulator Technology. The SimTech program at SWTC allows students to acquire
the knowledge and skills necessary for a career in simulation as an entry
level flight simulator technician. Southwest Technology Center offers classroom
and hands-on instruction in the operation, maintenance, and repair of simulator
systems. The campus houses two flight simulators, an F-111 and a C-141 which
are used in the maintenance training and instruction.
