Lead F-111F deployed to Taif, Saudia Arabia on first day of OPERATION DESERT SHIELD August 1990.
Completed 29 combat sorties during DESERT STORM, destroying 58 targets.
Wing aircraft during DESERT STORM. (Replacing 72-1448).
Flown to USAF Museum Wright-Patterson by Lt.Col. Bob Brewster and Maj. Fred Cheney 14 May 1996.
Callsign KARMA 52 in respect to the crew of F-111F 70-2389 who were lost on Operation EL DORADO CANYON.
On display Dayton, Ohio.48th Tailflash and put Col Lennons name on it at Wright Pat. Although flown to the museum with the markings of CC and 523, it has been repainted with the 48th TFW tailflash.
